Happy ½ Year 🥳
Well, you made it. For those of us in Australia, today marks the end of another financial year. You’ll always know it’s coming by late May, when those big “Stocktake Sale” signs start appearing in every department store. And whether you run a business or not, there’s something I love about days like this. It’s like New Year’s Day… but better. (Let me explain.) We’re exactly halfway through the year. That rare moment where we get to pause, look back at what the year has asked of us so far, and decide what we want to carry into the next six months. How’s work really going? What needs more attention? And what are we ready to leave behind? Life has a habit of becoming automatic. One day rolls into the next. Weeks become months. Before we know it, half the year has vanished. That’s what I love about June 30. It quietly asks us a question:
What’s been working this year, and what needs to change?
It’s all well and good to make ambitious resolutions on December 31. But for me, June 30 is where the real work happens. December is full of possibility. June is full of... evidence. Yes, the department stores are taking stock of their inventory. But for me, today is a chance to take stock of my own life. No judgement. Just noticing. Awareness has a funny way of creating change. And of course, any day is a good day for showing up with an extra dose of curiosity. But, in my humble opinion, none better than the ½ mark. So, happy EOFY, my friend. Notice the evidence. And many happy tax returns :)
Keep feeling,
Nathan
