Staying tethered 💙⚓️
Writing to you today from the Virgin Australia lounge in SYD, en route to ADL :) Over the weekend I decided it was time to get back into a habit of getting my thoughts, updates, and anything else into a regular email. I often dream the biggest dreams, but forget to take the smaller steps in bringing them to life each and every week. So, Notes from Nathan will be my new weekly practise – hope you'll join me for the journey, and feel free to unsubscribe if it's not for you. Last week began in Adelaide – so good to be back at Flinders University running a course for professional staff on Emotional Intelligence in the Digital Age. I was able to weave in a lot of the emerging tech being built into EQ6, and it was unreal to see it all being used in the room. I was then off to Sydney for Mumbrella360 at Carriageworks – one of my favourite events of the year. I was a guest of my wonderful pal Abe from Abe's Audio, who was also the rockstar of the inaugural Australian Audio Awards last Thursday night. It was a wild few days of meeting so many incredible people doing incredible things, and my mind has been processing it all ever since... Which brings me back to today. I'm ready to start doing the thing. To show up, roll up my sleeves, and get this show on the road. I'm putting the EQ6 framework to work – building the habit, showing the process, and sharing what I learn. For those familiar with EQ6, you'll understand when I say I have a lot of yellow in me. That Visionary is strong. Great for starting new things. Not so good for the upkeep.
I love the analogy of the bright yellow balloon and the deep blue anchor. Both are great. But too much of one or the other can push us up into fantasy, or down into defeat. Emotional flexibility is key.
Time for me to tether that balloon a little in the coming days. I'll let you know how I go. How about you? What needs tethering – or elevating – for the rest of the week ahead? And speaking of elevation... I have a flight to catch. Thanks for hearing me this week. I'll drop you another note soon.
Keep feeling,
Nathan
